TECHNICAL PROJECTS

AT ELITE ROADS, WE EMBRACE CREATIVE SOLUTIONS TO ADDRESS CLIENT CHALLENGES. OUR TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATIONS GUARANTEE PRECISION IN PROJECT OUTCOMES.

AUTOMATED machine control

  • Our 3D paving systems automate the paving process where by Robotic Total stations control layer thickness and screed attitude which negates the possibility of human error. The asphalt layer is controlled at a set level below FSL, reducing the effects of uneven subgrade. This eliminates rework by laying the asphalt right the first time. No need for pegs or string lines on site, which reduces trip hazards and increases safety for our crews. Instant verification of asphalt levels can be provided by our crew surveyor to keep the job on track.

There is also the possibility of continuous paving, utilising up to 4 Total stations at once to increase efficiency. Multiple sensor combinations to suit multiple paving tasks - 3D height and slope, 3D height and sonic, 3D height and big ski, laser and slope, dual prism for extended widths, GPS control, GPS and TPS for off-axis paving.

  • Our 3D profiling benefits offer the same quality reassurance when cutting, with very accurate control of layer thickness using Robotic Total stations. Drum depth is controlled automatically, and greatly reduces the risk of errors by operators. Profile depths are controlled at a set depth under FSL, profile to design depth regardless of the level/condition of the existing surface. Our operators can profile down to subgrade level within mm’s, reducing the possibility of creating differential compaction from an uneven subgrade and eliminating rework by cutting the subgrade right the first time. Possibility of continuous profiling, utilising up to 4 Total stations at once.

Road Construction REDEFINED: 3D Tech Takes Hume Highway into the Future!

HUME HIGHWAY REHABILITATION

  • At every stage of the project, we harnessed the capabilities of state-of-the-art 3D machine control technology. Our in-house team of survey and machine control specialists flawlessly managed this advanced technology to ensure utmost accuracy and efficacy.

    Technical Precision: Transforming Road Foundation:
A substantial aspect involved the removal and responsible disposal of over 15,000 tonnes of existing road material. Our teams executed precision cutting of the damaged road, utilizing 3D machine control on our profilers to attain an accuracy of 480mm. This process paved the way for the establishment of a robust 180mm Cement Treated Crushed Rock (CTCR) foundation.

Methodical Asphalt Layering: Setting a Precise Base:
The project included meticulous distribution of 5,300 tonnes of 3% CTCR using a GPS-enabled grader with 3D machine control technology. This foundation provided the requisite stability for the application of multiple layers of asphalt.

  • Over 12,000 tonnes of dense grade asphalt constructive layers were systematically transported and placed using 3D-equipped Vogele pavers. Our internal resources, dedicated to survey and machine control, ensured meticulous coordination and unparalleled precision. Through the deployment of an averaging beam, we positioned more than 1,400 tonnes of stone mastic asphalt wearing course with meticulous accuracy.

  • Our internal fleet of trucks efficiently managed material transportation, resulting in a streamlined workflow that persisted throughout the project's duration.

  • The project's comprehensive approach and unwavering commitment to quality culminated in a lasting positive impact on both the community and road users. The Hume Highway, a vital inter-city national route stretching 840 kilometres, bears witness to this accomplishment.

Elite Roads was commissioned for a comprehensive full-depth rehabilitation project spanning 1.3km on the Hume Highway, situated in Tallarook, Victoria. Completed over a six-week period, our strategic approach prioritized minimal disruption and technical precision, supported by cutting-edge technology.

ELITE SPORTS COURTS

  • Moorabool Shire Council

    Completion: March 2020

Elite Roads were engaged in the complete reconstruction of the newly designed Netball & Tennis facilities at the Ballan Recreation Reserve, Ballan.

  • Works included demolition, drainage, earthworks, asphalt, footpaths, kerb, sports furniture, line marking, lighting and acrylic surfacing – resulting in an updated facility including four Tennis courts & two Netball courts.

  • Elite Roads were engaged by our client to perform 3D Profiling of the Doveton Indoor Sports Courts.

  • Our survey team attended site to pick up the existing surface to create a model to suit client needs.

Utilising our 3D Equipped profilers, we completed surface correction of the concrete base of the indoor court to correct fall issues identified during design stages.

As part of these works Elite Roads delivered the following:

    - Survey and Design

    - 2287m2 of 3D Profiling of concrete

SANDRINGHAM ATHLETICS TRACK

  • Elite Roads were engaged to complete the resurfacing of the Sandringham Athletics track with the requirement to build the track to international standards.

Elite Roads investment in Leica 3D technology meant we were awarded the works.

Our surfacing team utilised our Leica 3D controlled profiler and asphalt paver to complete the surfacing during construction.

  • Our scope included:

    - 3D Profiling

    - 835T of Asphalt surfacing using a Leica 3D controlled paver.

    - Survey and machine control.

BROADFORD RACE TRACK

Revamping Broadford Racetrack: Unveiling the Ultimate Racing Experience!

  • Elite Roads were engaged by our client to perform works to the Broadford State Motorcycle Complex track.

Originally built in 1975, the track had previously been resurfaced, but showed signs of early fatigue.

  • Our survey team conducted a pick up of the circuit and met with the client to address areas of concern.

Utilising our profilers equipped with Leica 3D technology, we were able to rectify the problem areas and have the track back in operation earlier than expected.

As part of these works Elite Roads delivered the following:

    - Survey and Design

    - 7500m2 of 3D Profiling

    - 500 tonne of Asphalt track resurfacing

TRAM NETWORK REHABILITATION

Nicholson Street Tram Works

  • Route 96 is Melbourne’s busiest tram line. New raised stops along the route will enable everyone, including people who are vision impaired or using wheelchairs, prams and other mobility aids, to get on and off the tram safely and easily.

Elite Roads delivered asphalt works on newly repaired tram track in delivery of this project.
