VICTORIA

Western Roads Upgrade

  • Elite Roads has been working closely with the Wyndham City Council since 2017 to maintain council roads. Our shared Environmental and Sustainability targets have aligned in many small projects, demonstrating innovative construction services in the trialling of road resurfacing treatments using reclaimed plastics, rubber, steel mill slag and asphalt.

Elite Roads has resurfaced more than 90,000m2 road network in this time, conducting successful trials of Crumb rubber and high RAP mix types in several locations.

The benefits of the circular economy mix trials help reduce the amount of rubbish sent to landfill, and research also suggests that this asphalt improves the performance of the road compared to standard asphalt. Plus, at the end of its life, this asphalt can be recycled.

Our resources utilised on these works include:

    • Profiling

    • Asphalt supply and lay

    • Trucking

    • Street Sweeping

    • Traffic Management

The Wyndham City Council is always looking to demonstrate leadership to the community by adopting and promoting sustainable building and development suitable for the region’s current and future climate.

Project works also encompassed road widening works adjacent to the site and a large diameter stormwater retention system.

FLOOD RECOVERY

  • As part of a $351 million Victorian State Government package to help support communities impacted by the October 2022 Victorian floods, $165 million was allocated to an emergency road repair blitz. These funds supported innovative construction services for finding and fixing potholes, asphalting, and repairing damaged road surfaces. The package also covered large-scale works including rebuilding roads, bridges and culverts, particularly in the hardest hit areas of Western, Loddon Mallee and Hume regions. The funding will help reconnect communities and get the state’s vital freight industry moving again. Major Roads Projects Victoria worked closely with contractors across the Big Build’s road program in a coordinated effort with Regional Roads Victoria to repair roads impacted by the weather event. Elite Roads have been part of the rehabilitation works on the Hume Freeway, the Western Highway, the Goulburn Valley Freeway and the Murray Valley

  • Our innovative construction services were employed to supply and lay AC10 Type A asphalt to new internal roads, then remove and replace damaged sections of Federal Drive and Overlay with a new AC14 Heavy Duty asphalt.

This private subdivision will be home to large rural lots in some of the northern river’s beautiful countryside. Ballina Civil constructed the 13,500 m2 roadway, paving the way to these exclusive country lifestyle lots.

LISMORE CITY COUNCIL

  • Elite Roads successfully completed the carpark extension and road upgrade for the Lismore Bunnings extension on Bruxner Highway. This project involved the supply and laying of AC10 asphalt for the carpark extension, as well as AC20 and AC14 asphalt materials in 8 layers for the rear roadway.

Our innovative construction services encompassed a new 1500m2 carpark and the implementation of an 800mm pavement raise to allow traffic access to the new trade centre. The project utilised over 1,300 tonnes of asphalt and required careful coordination across 5 site visits over a 4-month period.

Working alongside various trades, we ensured efficient project delivery while minimising disruption to existing Bunnings operations.
