HOW WE WORK

OUR WORK PRACTICES ARE UNDERPINNED BY THREE CORE IDELOLGIES WHICH ENSURE OUR PEOPLE AND THE COMMUNITY ARE AT THE FOREFRONT OF HOW WE WORK.

  • At Elite Roads, innovation is synonymous with enhancing safety and efficiency in our service delivery. We continuously seek to refine our practices for the benefit of our team and stakeholders. Our pioneering use of machine control technology exemplifies our innovative approach.

Our in-house survey team collaborates with clients to understand their quality requirements, developing customized solutions using GPS machine control technology on our pavers, profilers, and excavators. This ensures precision and adherence to project scope from the outset.

Innovation drives our safety culture, with exclusion zone lighting on our machines to enhance safety during night operations. Our commitment to innovation extends to minimizing our environmental impact through sustainable practices.

  • At Elite Roads, inclusiveness means ensuring equal opportunities for all individuals to thrive. This principle is reflected in our daily practices, where we support new talent entering the trades and help them build rewarding careers with us.

Teamwork and collaboration are integral to our culture, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment at every level of our organisation.

Our commitment to inclusiveness extends to our procurement strategies. We actively engage in social procurement efforts, prioritizing partnerships with Indigenous businesses in Victoria.

By building robust, local supply chains, we support the growth of these businesses and contribute directly to the economic development of our communities. Our strategic procurement practices and employment efforts ensure regular support for these objectives, enhancing our community impact while delivering exceptional road construction services.

  • The construction industry significantly impacts our national carbon footprint, and Elite Roads is committed to sustainable delivery.

    • Our head office operates on solar power

    • Our site machinery uses recycled rainwater

    • Our equipment is equipped with carbon-reducing engines.

    • We recycle profiling waste into future asphalt mixes and partner with asphalt plants utilizing renewable energy.

We prioritize high-recycled-content materials in our procurement processes and support renewable energy through our regular supply partner’s participation in the MREP2 scheme, which uses wind-generated electricity from Ballan wind farms.

This approach leads to a significant reduction in our carbon footprint, cutting 6-7 kg of CO2 equivalent per tonne of asphalt produced as calculated using the AfPA LCA calculator Version 1.3, assuming all other inputs remain constant.

In collaboration with Wyndham City Council and the City of Melbourne, we develop asphalt mixes incorporating recycled plastic, glass, and old tyres. These mixes are also produced at lower temperatures, which reduce embodied carbon.
